This is joint 5 of the #30dayjoinerychallenge. I wanted to try a dado joint where dowels are used to lock the joint together. I have seen this joint on the web a few times and wanted to try it out. The paper on my belt sander was old when I sanded this joint and the end grain of the dowels burned a bit - it was a fortunate accident as the contrast shows the concept even better.
