A state of emergency has been declared in the Seychelles after a huge explosion at an industrial zone on the main island of Mahé.

The blast flattened commercial buildings and ruined houses, as well as damaging the international airport. Several people were evacuated and a number were injured. The blast happened at a site where four containers were holding explosives.
