The 2025 Yamaha XT250 has been launched in the North American market to invigorate the 250 cc dual-purpose class. This new iteration is available in a striking Radical Gray color scheme, featuring a sleek gray body complemented by black striping for a sporty, dynamic look. In terms of design, the bike retains the signature style of the third-generation XT250, which debuted in 2004. This is evident in its round headlamps and classic right-left mirrors, lending it a retro trail
The XT250 continues its old-school charm with a telescopic front suspension covered by rubber boots, rather than the more common upside-down forks seen on modern dual-purpose motorcycles. Under the hood, the bike is powered by a 249 cc SOHC 2-valve, fuel-injected, air-cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. This setup, paired with a 5-speed transmission, delivers a peak torque of 19.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Yamaha’s fuel injection technology contributes to an impressive fuel efficiency, with an estimated consumption of 32.2 km/liter. With an 8.2-liter fuel tank, this translates to a range of approximately 264 km on a full tank. The suspension system includes a 35 mm telescopic fork up front with 225 mm of travel and an adjustable rear monoshock with 180 mm of travel for improved off-road handling.
The bike is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, both wrapped in off-road tires for optimal performance on rugged terrains. Priced at an MSRP of $5,499 (around IDR 84.8 million), the 2025 Yamaha XT250 offers a solid balance of affordability and capability. With its competitive pricing and specifications, it poses a potential rival to the Kawasaki KLX250 in markets like Indonesia.
