A passenger plane carrying 67 people crashed near the Caspian Sea city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, according to Kazakh authorities. 32 people had survived, the Prosecutor General’s Office in Baku said. The Embraer 190 aircraft was making an emergency landing about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) from Aktau, Azerbaijan Airlines said in a statement.
