Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials report an uptick in black bear sightings and calls in west-central Montana.
Some of the areas receiving reports include Darby, Lolo, Grant Creek and Ninemile.
Officials say many of the calls aren’t about conflicts with bears, but people are seeing bears along the foothills eating chokecherry and serviceberry, which are native berries and an important food source for bears.
Experts remind you to be cautious and carry bear spray when you're out in bear country.
