Dawn and Dusk Guide: [ Ссылка ]
Hello slayers, this is SlayEazy and this is your Gargoyle slayer guide. Gargoyles offer slower XP and a good profit of about 5k per kill, including the legendary granite maul drop. Gargoyles can be assigned by various slayer masters at level 75 slayer, level 80 combat, and with the completion of the Priest in Peril quest. They are only found in the slayer tower northwest of Canifis, either on the top floor (watch out for aberrant spectres), or in the basement. The gargoyles in the Slayer Tower basement are generally better to kill and can only be killed while on a slayer task. Cannons cannot be set up in the slayer tower, so you will never cannon gargoyles – bummer, I know.
To kill a gargoyle, a rockhammer, the ranged rock throwhammer, or a granite hammer must be used when they reach 9 or lower hitpoints. Normally the item must be used on the gargoyle, but you can and should buy the Gargoyle Smasher perk from slayer masters for 120 slayer points. This perk will automatically smash the gargoyle when it falls to 9 or lower hitpoints if you have the smasher item in your inventory. Even without the perk, the granite hammer will automatically smash gargoyles if it is equipped. The rockhammer is faster than the rock throwhammer as it does not have travel time and is best used when killing gargoyles with melee. I recommend using a granite hammer for your first couple of tasks for ease of use, then unlocking the Gargoyle smasher perk as soon as possible to switch to your main crush weapon thereafter. The granite hammer is about as powerful as the dragon longsword, so it is an OK weapon for a task or two.
As gargoyles are weak to crush, bring your best crush weapon for this task. The best includes soulreaper axe on crush or the Inquisitor’s mace, followed by the abyssal bludgeon. There are some other good crush weapons out there too. A typically melee weapon that is not crush such as a rapier, fang, or whip can also be used. Bring a rock hammer and unlock the Gargoyle Smasher perk as soon as possible. Praying protect from melee with negates all damage from regular gargoyles but a tank setup with healing food or Guthan’s could also be used. A Saradomin Godsword is a good choice of special attack weapon for prayer and hitpoint restoration. I recommend a tank-DPS prayer setup with piety and/or praying melee, this can be very AFK due to Gargoyle’s aggression. I like bringing Proselyte and tank armor switch such as Torva or Inquisitor’s. Gargoyles are aggro so reset aggressiveness as necessary for AFK training. Gargoyles drop many alchables so drop high-alch runes. A slayer ring is the recommended quick teleport to Gargoyles at the slayer tower.
Gargoyles have a superior slayer monster variety that can be unlocked with the perk Bigger and Badder for 150 slayer points, the level 349 Marble Gargoyle. These superior variants use both melee and range attack styles and can require some food. If you have a tank armor switch, wear the tank around right away when the superior spawns. Either continue praying protect from melee and bring food to heal damage done by the marble gargoyle’s ranged attacks, or bring a range switch and pray range to negate all of the marble gargoyle’s damage except for the special attack. The marble gargoyle will occasionally launch a grey ball towards you. If hit by the projectile, it will inflict up the 38 damage and trap you in stone for several seconds. You can avoid this special attack by moving at least 1 tile away when the project is launched. You have to be pretty quick here, so pay attention. Good luck with the imbued heart drop!
Gargoyles also have a chance to drop the brittle key at a rate of 1/150 when on a slayer task, which gives permanent access to the Grotesque Guardians at the top of the slayer tower, a boss alternative to regular Gargoyles. These Grotesque Guardian pairs are killed Dawn and Dusk and can only be killed when on a slayer task. Dawn and Dusk are much stronger than other gargoyles with other mechanics, but the task is quite fun and can return solid XP and profit. I will cover Dawn and Dusk in a separate video. Unless you are interested in collection log or pet for Grotesque Guardians, I recommend you kill normal Gargoyles instead – as the guardian drop table is somewhat lackluster for a slayer boss. However cool drops include granite dust to upgrade cannonballs for more damage, and the great-looking gargoyle pet called Noon. This is a highly sought-after pet, I think it looks amazing. Thank you for watching my Gargoyle video, I will see you all in the next video. Until then, happy slaying!
