Giant Toad aka the ninjutsu spamming fuckface is here to cause me great problems in the Depths with a stone of penance+9.

The biggest problem with this guy is the fact that he heavily resists Purity. That compounded with the +9 stone means that it's impossible to upkeep purity on him by hitting him with a weapon. Right out of the gate I lose 50% ki damage, at least 40+% melee damage, and a significant portion of my Anima gain.

This also causes problems when he's reaching zero ki. Typically with Giant Toad you can one-cycle him easily by dropping tons of different elements onto him and extending confusion in his first zero-ki sequence. I have to be even more careful doing it here, since he won't have purity on him by default. I have to make sure he's confused as soon as he hits zero ki or I'll miss the timing for extending confusion and he'll just pop his dark realm.

You have to be extremely wary of his various area controlling moves like the paralysis clouds and caltrops. It's even worse when he hops back into the wall because it's harder to approach him since the camera freaks out near walls.

You can also basically only engage him on his left side. Being on his right when he starts casting a ninjutsu move will get you instantly killed by a bizarre hitbox from him putting his spear in the ground. Most of his other moves are more lenient on his left side as well.

Overall fuck this boss. Obviously if I did this again I'd change off of Izanagi entirely as well as changing out my soul cores for more anima gain without relying on purity. My 2nd boss on this floor was Yatsu-no-Kami and while I did eventually clear the whole floor it wasn't anywhere near as clean as the kill in this video.
