9.20.19 | by Adam Balhetchet | BATTERY PARK, Manhattan - Over 60,000 people attended the Global Climate Strike. Over a million NYC school students were able to get an excused absence to attend the protest. It happened at noon on Friday starting at Foley Square and ending at Battery Park. That is where Swedish activist Greta Thunberg spoke. She will also be speaking at the UN Climate Action Summit on Monday.
