Shinkiari hut is a forest resthouse was built deep in to the Ghonool forest by the British government almost 100 years ago. The forest house, locally known as Shinkiari hut, is accessible by a jeep track that starts from Ghonool road at 25 minutes drive from Balakot Naran road in Khyber Pakhtoon Khua. It takes around 2 hours to reach this magical place following a rough unmaintained jeep track.

At an elevation of 8650 feet from sea level, the forest house was built in 1926 and the solid wooden structure has survived almost 100 years.
