This is because medicines that are used to treat the pain of trigeminal neuralgia have certain side-effects and could even be risky if the patient develops allergies to them. [ Ссылка ]
Medicines used are of many types and names. They could be full release doses or slow release ones. Carbamazepine (tegretol, Oxeto, Mazetol) Gabapentin, Lamotrigine are some examples. These medicines work well initially, but later when the pain increases, the doses have to be increased. This gives better effective treatment but also leads to side effects of medicines used in treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
