Should Britain abolish the monarchy? A debate between royal historian and broadcaster Rafe Heydel-Mankoo and Graham Smith, head of the anti-monarchy pressure group Republic.
Support for the Monarchy remains strong, yet the institution will need to tackle two challenges which are already having an effect in the UK -- and even more so in Canada:
1. Mass immigration. There are more than 10 million foreign born residents in the UK. Many of them have no cultural, emotional or historical tie to the Crown.
2. Today's youth are the most radically left-wing in history. This is evident across a range of issues, including the Monarchy. Youth support for the Monarchy is dramatically lower than all other age groups, even those only 5-10 years older. This is a phenomenon pollsters have never previously encountered.
