Pharmacist to Australia Update 3 Feb 2023

I am working as a pharmacist in Australia and I have observed that the scope of pharmacist in australia is bright, I know some of my friends and others pakistani pharmacist in australia who passed Australian pharmacy exam from pakistan and got employer sponsorship from pakistan

I would recommend you to give a go to Australian pharmacy exam which is not that hard and you can prepare it in a matter of 4-5 months

The one day salary of pharmacist in australia is greater than the whole month salary of pharmacist in pakistan

This exam is gonna cost you a bit but, once you pass that, your rest of life is in very good position, the total expenses is gonna be around 6-7lakh only which i explain below

This post is for those who want to work as a pharmacist in Australia and wanna settle there, pharmacy is one of the top profession in Australia with handsome salary packages $100-120k / annually

Am gonna mention the whole procedure to migrate australia once you pass one exam

There are three steps process to get registration as pharmacist in Australia

1- Get your skills assesment from Australian pharmacy council (APC) online,
You need following documents for assessment
- degree
- transcript
- category -A
- passport
There is no need of experience to mention even fresh pharmacist can apply as well
The fee for assessment is around $1250 Australian dollars
Skills assesment take around 7-8 weeks time, once you get your skills assesment, the next step is to prepare for exam

2- prepare and pass pharmacy exam taken by Australian pharmacy council, the exam is called KAPS ( knowledge assessment of pharmaceutical sciences)
The fee for this exam is relatively high which is around 2200-2300 Australian dollars

Once you pass KAPS, congratulation you are one step away from getting registration in australia and bringing your dreams to reality
After passing KAPS exam, the third step is

3- prepare for either PTE( Pearson English test) or IELTS, you have to secure atleast 66 scores in pte or 7 bands in ielts, once you get it, apply for your registration as a pharmacist in medical body in australia which is called AHPRA ( Australian health practitioner regulation agency), this step is also gonna take around 6-8 weeks time

Once you get your registration, you have to options to come to australia

1- Employer sponsorship which is very easy to get nowadays as australia is desperately seeking oversees pharmacist, you have to pay nothing if you got sponsorship, all the expenses related to visa process will be bear by employer

2- apply Australian permanent residency from pakistan directly if you have 65 plus scores on “ immigration departments of Australia requirement, you can calculate your points by searching to google “”””””” Points calculator for Australia immigration “””””””””

SALARY and PERKS
The salary on intern pharmacist is in between $25-30/hour once you in australia, you have to complete 1574 hours of internship which is paid before getting license as a full pharmacist

The salary of a general pharmacist is in between $40-50/hour which can increase every year

Once you are clear the above 3 steps, you can easily get Australian permanent residency in less than 2 years

Community/ Retail Pharmacist/ Hospital Pharmacist, Industrial Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician.
