Ride onboard as I take Renault Clio sport 197 around one of the best known tracks of the UK, Donington Park National.

During this day I was driving with one of my main Nurburgring Nordschleife competitors Vincent, blowing off the cobwebs whilst having some fun, eventually racing/ chasing down a Little Ginetta Junior.
The track day organiser was want2Race, it was a great day, extremely quiet, also felt like we had it exclusively.
Interestingly I felt the Renault Clio held its own agains the Ginetta Junior race car, we had more power, but they're rear wheel drive and set up for the track. Both cars run on Michelin road tyres so I thought we were fairly evenly matched.
✖ The Car
2007 Renault Clio Sport 197
One careful owner, ha who am I kidding, I have thrashed this car around track after track, day after day, she's never let me down, only about 4 times, alternator, gearbox, cigarette lighter shorted out and fried the ecu, and a clutch, oh and she eats through front tyres just for fun, but she's the best training tool for teaching all of my customers how to drive, whether your a first track day user, moving from karting, and some of my GT3 team mates I teach everyone the nitty gritty bits of technique, weight transfers, trail braking, and even being patient can make you quicker. It's amazing how many people after years and years of racing have bad habits that I can adjust and you automatically go faster.
I've got it fitter with Dual control in the passenger side, so I can press the brake for my own safety, and the clutch for the engines saftey when some one sticks it in 3rd gear instead of 5th, (you'll be amazed, every client has done it, it happens at least once a day, its amazing what you do when you tense up)
Track suspension, hooked her up with some extra camber to get the extra half a day out the front tyres, slammed her to the ground a few millimetres.
And the best road tyres you can buy.
Michelin pilot sports 2's or 4's, sometimes both, last the longest for road tyres, and equally good in the wet.
✖ Race Navigator Data logger
She's a beauty! So I run the Race navigator Pro, all singing and dancing track day hero data logging system, simple to use, pretty much picks up the start line and configuration on any track via the GPS when near by. Upload whole files or individual laps to my iPad, and boom, I can show you where your losing time and why. we can even zoom into the screen to see if you're 0.5 meters off the racing line or turning in to early.
✖ Camera mount
[ Ссылка ], My good friend Chris Dymond came up with this pretty nifty invention to hold a camera steady in your car, a driver with brains, who'd have thought.
✖ Helmet camera! Might have helped if I'd have remembered to put it on charge the night before. Anyways, I use it in my other video's and it works great. Heres some Discount below.
