Week 1 is in the books! I hit 53.4 miles for the week and ran 7 hours and 55 minutes total. It's been an odd adjustment to thinking about training in time (instead of miles). My greatest struggle this week was the 2 hour long run. I couldn't make it, which is quite sad. But I will get there.
Over the next few months, I plan to follow a structured plan from Daniels' Running Formula. The intention of this training is not to train for a specific event but just to build a solid foundation. The overall emphasis is building the aerobic base, but there are definitely elements of speed too. Staying healthy and listening to the body will be key. Week by week, I want to document my journey as a recreational runner. I am fairly new to running (~18 months) and know that there are many improvements to be made. I love following the journeys and stories of others, so here's mine. Let's embrace and love the process of consistency, discipline, and patience. Follow along! Hope you enjoy!
