Have you ever wondered how backpressure reduces horsepower? Gale Banks explains that backpressure in the exhaust manifold acts on the piston as it rises up the bore. If you reduce backpressure anywhere in the exhaust, it will have a positive effect on the back pressure in the exhaust manifold which means less horsepower is needed to push the piston up on each exhaust stroke. Backpressure is never your friend, so make sure your truck is breathing freely with a Banks Monster Exhaust System.
