Ahhh yes, the memories of using Windows Movie Maker back then before video editing became better. We all started using it when it was bundled with XP and Vista (2.0-2.5 and 6.0 respectively), and boy it brings back memories... except for me because I never used the software back then
anyway the version of Movie Maker, as seen in the title, is version 6.0, and it did came bundled with Windows Vista at the time. It basically is an upgrade to Windows Movie Maker's legacy, and is the final version of Movie Maker before it was bundled along with the Windows Live Essentials. Version 6.0 introduced new effects, transitions, and a UI that fits Windows Vista a lot. It is working in newer versions of Windows, like Windows 10 and 11.
Some modern file extensions are not supported, like mp4 files, m4a files, etc. and the output file of the movie is a .wmv file instead of .mp4 as seen in modern Movie Maker and Clipchamp.
Some low-end or old computers and operating systems can't run Windows Movie Maker 6.0 and above (like my mom's old computer), so Microsoft decided to remake Windows XP's Movie Maker, 2.5, to 2.6. It basically is like 2.5 for anyone who is confused with the duo.
See you all in the next video!
