How do you get in front of casting directors?
This is a question many actors are desperate to have answered!!! And hopefully we can help...
This video will explore everything you need to know if you want to be seen by top casting directors. These influential people in the industry are the key to having a successful film and TV career. But they can be really hard to get in front of. In this video we discuss four major areas for getting noticed by casting directors:
#1 Get an amazing agent: this will be the most powerful step you can take as an actor. Agents will connect you with casting directors and be able to help you to get seen consistently. Trying to get seen without an agent will be very very tough.
#2 Foster a good relationship with your agent: having a great agent isn't the end goal. You can be with a great agent and still not be seen by casting directors. So you have to make sure you are helping your agent as much as possible. You need to be a great communicator and make sure you are helping them sell you by keeping your head shots, showreels and casting profiles up to date.
#3 Foster a good relationship with casting directors: once you are in the game, you now need to stay in the game. Make sure you are always on time, well prepared and a good presence in the room.
#4 Nail every audition you go to: book the room, not the job. You may have heard that phrase before, but it's a powerful adage. Your goal is to nail every audition. It isn't about landing the role! (That would be nice, but acting is a long game). Keep doing great work and casting directors will keep getting you back in the room.
