If you're looking for a recipe that's easy, delicious, and perfect for St. Patrick's Day, Gameday or...just about ANY day, well, this is it! Nothing says "Irish Pub food" more than a Sausage Roll!
Start with purchased puff pastry for the sausage rolls, which is the perfect flaky, buttery base for this mouth-watering dish. I show you how to make the sausage mixture, how to shape and cut the pastry, and how to bake your rolls to perfection!
For the sausage mixture, start with 1 lb of basic ground pork. Combine that with:
1/2 tsp each salt, dried thyme, oregano, rosemary
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 a medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 egg
1 cup bread crumbs
1 sheet of puff pastry
egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 Tbs water)
Tip: be sure you bake the rolls on PARCHMENT paper to help absorb any butter/grease produced during baking.
Bake rolls at 425 degrees until pastry is golden brown and sausage is nice and bubbly cooked through. I served it with a mixture of mayonnaise and grainy pub mustard!
