There are are three ways to do this: I've shown the one I use as it works with most standard perch rings, the way it was intended to be used is shown on page 117 of Understanding The Bird Of Prey by Nick Fox, the way he has shown may be suitable for use with some block perches but not most bow or ring perches unless they have been modified to suit. The way he has shown reduces the risk of tangling a lot but the risk with of it with the leash the way around I have shown it is no higher than with a standard leash. The great thing about loop leashes is that birds cannot undo them to escape and they are sooo easy and quick to attach and unattach, MUCH safer than clips or knots.
There is a third way of attaching them, which is perhaps the best for standard perch rings as it combines both styles of attachment. Please see link for details. Any questions, please ask :) I hope this video has been helpful for you!
