Boris Johnson is set to lead a press conference from Downing Street at 5pm to provide an update on the country’s progress in the battle against coronavirus.
The prime minister will address the nation alongside NHS England chief executive Sir Simon Stevens and chief medical officer for England Professor Chris Whitty a day after he revealed that more than 15 million people across the UK have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
