**Watch in 4K**
A fresh, beautiful morning journey between Karnataka's largest and third-largest cities, on board the 16235 Tuticorin - Mysuru Express in one of its last ICF runs!
This video features the route's beautiful scenery, quaint stations, some high-speed crossings and essentially everything else a railfan would typically cover. All in 4K, of course.
The trip began at KSR Bengaluru, where I was right on time- to witness the delayed Kacheguda - Mysuru SF Express pull into one of the station's few platforms that can handle 24-coachers, platform 5. The train departed after an extended halt and a loco change, and I expected the Tuticorin Express to arrive at any moment. Of course, that didn't happen, and it finally pulled into platform 5 delayed by half an hour, with a far-from-home green goblin from Barauni doing the honours.
As always, we crawled through Bengaluru outer (and crossed the late running intercity to Chennai) and didn't really pick up any speed until we crossed Kengeri. The WAG-9 proved its mettle with some hard acceleration, and was a natural fit for this route with a top speed of 100 km/h. This is easily the slowest double-electrified line in SWR, owing to its sharp curves and gradients.
The train consistently maintained its 30-odd minute delay, until it pulled into Mysuru early thanks to some typical SWR slack. Thus, an extremely enjoyable and memorable journey came to an end.
Would I recommend you take this train in the absence of availability on the other morning trains? Absolutely. Would I say its timings are convenient? Extremely. Especially now, since it runs with a modern, new LHB rake!
