In the video today, you'll see a fun day Jack had recently during his trip down to Florida. He was absolutely hammering the Jack Crevalle fishing. Fishing for Jack Crevalle is an absolute blast as they are one of the hardest fighting fish you'll find in the ocean. In the video we are using a medium-sized saltwater rod but if you hook into a double-digit pound jack fish that might not even be enough!

In this video, we are targeting these Jack Crevalle from the shore. This just goes to show that you don't need a boat to have a good time locating and catching fish! Surf fishing for Jack Crevalle is an absolute blast as you can easily hook into this aggressive species of fish by throwing minnow imitation lures and pretty much anything that appears sunny underwater.

You'll be a Jack Crevalle Fishing pro after watching this video and going on a couple trips of your own - you'll be all set and know exactly how to catch Jack fish from the surf/jetty.

We love the trout eye jig heads and like we say...it's hard to beat a red jighead with a white curly grub!

We used a combination of live target shrimp and DOA shrimp and had success on both. It is always good to have a couple different colors so you can fish different conditions successfully. We also love the Vudu shrimp because of the segmented tail. When it falls in the water it looks just like a shrimp swimming with it's tail - tricks the fish every time!

Popping cork: [ Ссылка ]

While we didn't use this today, we have caught plenty of spotted trout & Jack Crevalle on this set up. The noise of the cork just brings in the fish, and we will be sure to have a video up soon of us slaying some fish on em!

Rod and Reel: [ Ссылка ] & [ Ссылка ]

I was using the Penn Fierce 4000 combo. I love penn rods and reels they stand up to saltwater and are tough. This setup allows you to reel in any size spotted trout you will run into, but it is not too big to where it would be clunky. I like this rod because of its price point and durability, however if you got a little more cash, the penn battle II is a little smoother and more saltwater resistant.

Landing Net: [ Ссылка ]

Once you get the spotted trout out of the hole and to the surface a landing net is very useful to throw the fish in. Once they get to the surface they often roll around a lot, so having a net to put them in decreases the chance you miss them. Especially since those trout have delicate mouths.

Fishing Line: [ Ссылка ]

Pretty much my go to fishing line for most of my setups. Any Berkley Trilene line is going to be high quality line, so find your favorite! For Jack Crevalle you can get away with 8 - 12 lb test depending on how big they are.
