Several thousand people packed into London’s Trafalgar Square on Sunday (November 27) for Diwali, the festival of lights that is celebrated by the Hindu faith and several other Indian religions.
Organisers estimated that about 10,000 members of the UK’s Asian population plus tourists and local residents attended the celebrations there.
Sunday's celebrations marked the 23rd edition of the festival.
