Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a Hindu festival commemorating the birth of god Ganesha. The festival is marked with installation of Ganesha’s idol, including chanting of Vedic hymns as prayers and offering prasada. The festival generally ends on the tenth day after start, when the idol is immersed in a river or sea, called as Visarjan.
