Thursday August 10 celebrates one of the most majestic species on earth--it's World Lion Day!

Thursday we celebrate the ferocious king of the jungle.
The holiday was founded to bring awareness to the declining population of lions.
It's estimated that less than 50,000 are left in the wild because of poaching and hunting.
To celebrate World Lion Day, visit a zoo or donate to a wild cat rescue.
You can also watch everyone's favorite lion movie, The Lion King.
