This invention moves in real time the position of a sliding counterweight to reduce lifting and lowering forces/torque to be negative torque that is harvest-able energy. On a reciprocating beam pump a sliding beam counterweight is attached to a positioning drive on the beam and is intelligently positioned to achieve lowest torque and negative torque achievable from combining both the counterweight and the load for a negative counterbalance effect. Positioning can be calculated by simply recording ammeter readings which are merged with crank position readings and processed into signals sent to the positioning drive which causes the sliding counterweight to move to the best position on the reciprocating beam to achieve near to lowest amps or when negative is switched to generating mode to harvest negative torque at the prime mover and the other onboard generators. This swaying weight effect is patented also.
