The Australian Defence Force (ADF) continues to provide customised support to all state and territory authorities to reinforce, amplify and expand their capacity to deal with the impacts of COVID-19. At various hotels across Sydney and Brisbane, members of the ADF are working with state police to assist with the mandatory quarantine repatriation of international passengers who have completed their 14 day requirement. Throughout each of the states and territories, the ADF is embedded with regional planning teams and law enforcement to develop and maintain effective and tailored support. Support to New South Wales (NSW) authorities also includes quarantine compliance management to maritime ports including Eden, Port Botany, Port Kembla and Newcastle. This support is complimented by support to police control points in Queensland (QLD) and the Northern Territory (NT). State health authorities in NSW, NT, QLD, Victoria and Tasmania are also currently receiving ADF support in contact tracing centres to supplement existing personnel. Defence remains postured to provide additional support, across Australia, as required.
