Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an annual event initiated by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). For one week in November 2019, 170 countries will come together to celebrate the inspirers, the idea generators and the drivers of economic growth, also known as global entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators.
Between the 18th to the 24th of November countries from around the world will engage in connecting entrepreneurs with collaborators, mentors and stakeholder groups in order to develop a network of synergistic partners and new opportunities. Supported by the Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is endorsed by a significant amount of world leaders and has a network of more than 15,000 partner entities.
This event seeks to enhance interest in the work of entrepreneurs. particularly young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs and those entrepreneurs living with disabilities. Furthermore, the event aims to encourage inspiring and aspiring entrepreneurs to believe in themselves and to know that their ideas have the potential to change the way we live and work. If successful, their innovations may improve our standard of living, and in addition to creating wealth with their entrepreneurial ventures, they also create jobs and the conditions for a prosperous society.
Attending entrepreneurs will be engaged in an open discussion about the challenges and opportunities they face with the goal of identifying solutions to the challenges and ways to access and maximise on available opportunities.
