"What I can say is that the situation here is horrible. It is not allowed that all the nations around the world let the Israelis bombard us this way. It is an elephant and we are ants. What do we have? Aeroplanes? We have nothing. They are shelling us and what are we doing? Nothing. They should bombard Syria and Israel. It would be more effective."

STORYLINE:
The mass exodus of foreign nationals from Lebanon continued on Wednesday, as Israel's ferocious bombardment of the country entered its eighth day.
Canadians, Americans, Europeans, and Lebanese citizens with foreign passports were among the thousands fleeing.
The US Navy sent a cruise ship, the Orient Queen, to Beirut to begin the evacuation of some of its 25,000 citizens in the country.
Israel has been allowing evacuation ships to pass through the naval blockade it established after the fighting began.
Lebanon's only international airport has been shut since Thursday when Israeli jets bombed all three runways, and continued to bomb it in the days that followed.
