One of the benefits of the new iPhones is the switch to USB C, but you also need to update your existing lighting adapters to type c. Luckily Apple makes the exact same lighting to 3.5mm headphone adapter, but in type c, with the identical design and for the same price. Being USB C, it should work with many different devices.
