This article explores Lithuania’s latest defense investment in the Boxer infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) fleet, following the new contract signed between the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and ARTEC GmbH. The Lithuanian army will receive 27 additional Boxer IFVs, increasing their fleet to over 110 vehicles. The Boxer 8x8 armored vehicle is known for its modular design, advanced protection against mines, IEDs, and ballistic threats, and powerful weaponry, including the 30mm MK-44S cannon and Spike LR anti-tank missiles. Lithuania’s acquisition includes a new engineering variant to enhance tactical mobility, with the vehicles expected to be delivered between 2027 and 2029.
