Recorded in 1987 for release in 1988 to commemorate the Millennium of Ukrainian Christianity, this is the Christmas Tropar and Kondak penned by Tchaikovsky, adapted for banduras by Zenobij Lawryshyn and performed by the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus under the direction of Wolodymyr Kolesnyk, former Artistic Director of the Kyiv State Opera (who defected to the west in the 70s). The Tropar and Kondak are from the Christmas Liturgy. This release was the last LP (#22) by the chorus who then switched to the digital format in their next release.
