#White Ribbon Day is Important to me. My Mam set up the first women's refuge agianst domestic violence in Middlesbrough. I went on my first Reclaim night women only march with my Mam in 1977 when I was 7 years old.
One way that we can stop violence against women and girls is to stop men perpetrating it. So today please join me in making my yearly White Ribbon Pledge. "I promise never to excuse, use or remain silent about men's violence against women"
There's no need for it.
This year, White Ribbon Day falls on the same week as the start of the FIFA Men's World Cup and will highlight 11 traits men and boys can nuture to help create a world of equality and safety for women - that's #thegoal for White Ribbon Day 2022.
