This film features the experiences of a diverse group of South Africans as they explore the application of ‘other effective area-based conservation measures’ (OECMs) to sites in the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region.
OECMs are sites outside protected areas that deliver the effective and long-term in situ conservation of biodiversity, support associated ecosystem functions and services, and promote cultural, spiritual, socio-economic and other locally relevant values. For more information, please visit the IUCN WCPA Specialist Group on OECMs. You can find OECMs in your country on the Protected Planet website.
