Clayton Coleman, lead engineer of OpenShift by Red Hat, introduces Project Solum, which aims to more tightly integrate Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service to help developers build applications faster and to help administrators manage resources. Project Solum generates images from developer source code, deploys them on virtual machines or containers, uses Heat to deploy images consistently into production, and gives administrators the flexibility to tune how the apps look over time.
