Top Management has to demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the Quality Management system (QMS) by taking accountability for the effectiveness of QMS; by ensuring the establishment of Quality Policy, and Quality Objectives for the QMS and these are compatible with Context and strategic direction of the organization; by ensuring the integration of the QMS into its business processes; by promoting the use of process approach and risk based thinking; by ensuring the provision of adequate resources for QMS; by communicating the importance of effective quality management and conformance to QMS requirements; by ensuring that the QMS achieves its intended results; by engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS; by promoting improvement; by supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility.
