[Metaverse in the Construction Industry]
Metaverse is a virtual reality space that allows people from all over the world to interact with each other and the Metaverse itself. It is still an emerging area that the construction industry has just started to test out for exploring its capabilities. Even though the industry is widely using augmented and virtual reality that are fundamental technologies for the Metaverse in various applications such as BIM visualization, construction safety and team collaboration, it is still questionable how the Metaverse could impact the future of the construction industry.
This seminar invites three speakers, Dr. Seung Hyun CHA, Dr. Minchen (Tommy) WEI and Dr. JoonOh SEO who are the pioneers in the areas of Metaverse and Virtual Reality applications in construction. In this seminar, they will introduce their recent research work on metaverse from the construction industry point of view, and share their thoughts on how the Metaverse will change the industry.
