Your dog may have a limp but will not cry if you touch the leg on which he is limping.
If your dog continues to limp despite showing no signs of pain, it could indicate that he is not gravely injured or is attempting to hide the suffering.
Animals normally respond on instinct, so there's no reason for him to try to hide the suffering from you.
If your dog has a significant injury and is limping, he is most likely in excruciating pain. If you tried to touch the injured area, he would wince or even lash out.
If you realize your dog isn't placing any weight on one of his limbs, you should take him to the vet as soon as possible.
Giving him medication until you know what's wrong is not a good idea if he's in pain. Especially if you're taking medications that were designed for people and weren't recommended by your vet.
