I hit the Heritage Trail in Iowa on Christmas morning for an early run before the rest of the family arrives. I started out in Asbury and ran to Graf and back. At some point, I think I crossed the Little Maquoketa River.
Earlier this year, I started in this same spot and ran in the other direction torwards Durango, Iowa.

The Heritage Trail is a mixed use trail, so as long as there is 4 inches of snow on the ground or more, snow mobiles could use the trail, too. I didn't see any snow mobilers that day, but I did run in their tracks, which was nice and compact.
Even though there was no foliage due to winter, there was still plenty to see along the trail. I saw cows, hawks, and a bald eagle. I also saw tracks from several other small and medium sized animals.
Thanks for watching. Leave a comment to let me know you stopped by!
