Star Trek: Insurrection was a very entertaining but middle of the pack Star Trek Film. The strengths included the actual story and history of these two races, the directing from Jonathan Frakes and the performances (particularly from Sir Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes and F. Murray Abraham). The production end was also mostly great with beautifully made sets, props and decent CGI which looked good for the time but didn’t age as well. Apart from the slightly confusing first act, I would very much recommend this film, especially if you’re a Star Trek fan. This isn’t a standalone movie so I’d be cautious if I were a causal viewer. I'm very excited for the final film in the franchise: Nemesis!
