On Friday, Iran holds elections for its parliament and the assembly of experts - the body tasked with selecting the Supreme Leader.
It'll be the first time Iranians have gone to the polls since President Hassan Rouhani's term began in 2013.
More than 12 thousand candidates registered to run for the parliamentary election, but more than half were disqualified - mainly because they're seen as reformists.
Among the remaining candidates, 586 are women.
They're all vying for the 290 seats in parliament.
As for the Assembly of Experts,161 approved clerics are competing for 88 seats.
Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons reports from Tehran.
