LMS Black 5 45407 ( The Lancashire Fusilier ) & 45690 ( Leander ) were at the Helm of the Railway Touring Companies railtour " The Hadrian . The tour would start from Manchester Victoria to Carlisle via Shap but the original plan for steam on at Manchester would see the pair coming on at Carnforth instead . The duo are first seen working hard near Shap Summit just as 45407 recovers from a slip on a very gale force windy day with Gordon Hodgson driving 45690 . I did the summit again due to the forecast of rain and strong winds thinking I would have some shelter so I think it paid off . The pair are finally seen at the foot crossing at How Mill from behind the paths fence . Nice to see my good friend Frank Gardner aka the Doodyman on youtube waving at me from near the back of the train . This was the first revenue earning run for 45690 Leander since her overhaul .
