For me getting the colours right when trying to recreate from another image can be quite a bit daunting. After reading up on colour theory and watching loads of youtube videos on the subject, I put together my own coloured swatch which makes it easy to compare colours and match them up.
Almost everyone I know in the art community, the minute they open a new set of coloured pencils that they have not used before, create a colour swatch and most of the people I've seen do this, do so in the back of their sketch pad or paper they most commonly use.
I decided to create something a little bit different, but it would allow me to place the swatch next to a random colour on the image you are trying to recreate and match that colour a little bit easier. This is obviously not my idea, I've seen other artists create similar things and I just wanted to share this tip with new artists who may be finding that selecting the right colour is not as easy as it first seems.
