Now this was a HIKE 🥾 So thankful that Lynnae's knee held up & we didn't have to get emergency EVAC off the mountain 😅

🍂 We did this during the FALL season & are unsure if the crossing is open during the winter months.
📍 This is in the North Island & you must book your drop off & pickup shuttle in advance. We booked with a travel agent when we were in Auckland so everything was arranged in advance which helped us with our headaches! We stayed at KIWI CAR CAMP right by the shuttle pick up & for a small fee, it is worth it.
🥾 Hiking poles helped out tremendously & would strongly suggest them for hikers of ANY level.
🏋️ On a serious note...Please have an honest evaluation of your physical capabilities before you embark on this trek...its not for the faint of heart!
