In today’s Gospel we see how Jesus is rejected by those in his own townspeople because they know him as a local carpenter and they see him as too ordinary to be the Messiah. Jesus chose the ordinary as he knew that the divine would be even more difficult for people to accept. By embracing humanity he was better able to relate to people on a level they could understand and ultimately bring them, through his teachings, to the realisation of His divinity.
