180 kilometers from Turkmenabat, in the Khalach etrap, there is a famous historical and cultural monument - an old educational institution bearing the name of its founder - the Idris Baba madrasah. According to sources, Idris-baba was born in this area around 1690 and lived to be a hundred years old. He was one of the highly educated representatives of his time, graduated from the famous Shirgazi Khan madrasah in Khiva. In the educational institution built on his initiative, he taught various sciences and brought up worthy successors of his work.
