North Yorkshire Moors Railway 50th Anniverary Steam Gala included four visiting locomotives BR 2-10-0 9F 92214 based at the Great Central Railway, CR 0-4-4T 55189, BR 4-6-0 4MT 75069 and a welcome return of LNER A4 4-6-2 4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley".
They were joined by LNER J27 0-6-0 65894, Lambton & Joicey Colliery 0-6-2T No.29, SR 4-4-0 Schools 30926 "Repton", BR 2-6-4T 4MT 80136, LMS 4-6-0 Black Five 45428, tram loco #8 Lucie and BR 2-10-0 9F 92134.
The video was taken around Esk Valley and includes double-headed 9Fs.
It had been bright and sunny most of the day but the rain followed the train in the last shot out of Grosmont. The rain was torrential and by the time I had packed my gear up and walked back from the lineside I was well and truly soaked.
