Here's your almost-unbelievable fact of the day: The Quad Cities has not yet seen a temperature go below freezing this Fall season. That's the reason why we're still dealing with bugs this time of year! I heard some crickets out back of my house around sunset last night! Our first freezing night is planned for Friday night when temperatures could fall down to 30 degrees.
Today, we'll have windy and unseasonably warm conditions. Temperatures will quickly rise into the 60s by lunchtime with afternoon highs around 69 this afternoon. Skies will be mostly clear.
A cold front will pass through our region tonight with little fanfare. Only a few clouds will mark the passage of the front. After that, the wind will blow out of the north cooling us to 41 degrees by Friday morning.
There is absolutely no rain in the forecast for the next week. Our models are hinting at a vigorous cold front by the end of next week which could be a severe storm maker...but it's a long way out. We'll monitor.
