Fat grafting is often used in conjunction with an implant to revolumise or enlarge breasts. In this case, Dr Sharp removed an old implant with its capsule, replacing it with a new implant. He then harvested fat deposits on the patient's stomach and used the fat to add volume around and over the top of the implant, particularly at the edges. Autologous fat grafting is suitable for patients with low fat volume in their chest and breast region. It can help to reduce the appearance of rippling and soften the appearance of the implant. It does not, on its own, produce significant changes to breast size or shape.
