Event #1 is in the bag!
Thanks so much to everyone who came along to today's launch (and also those who didn't come along and gave us a manageable number). We were so lucky with the weather and we didn't see a drop of rain until we were packed up and gone!
Thanks to Redland City Councillor Cr Rowanne McKenzie and Peter Mitchell Councillor Division 2 for your support today, much appreciated.
As we all know parkrun doesn't happen without volunteers and we have to give special mention of today's crew who have all given their time to support our trials and today's launch. We intentionally saturated the place with orange vests to help everything run smoothly, and run smoothly it did! We had 235 participants from all over the place and 28 volunteers, so with over 250 people in our small gathering space, we all did well so thank you.
Speaking of volunteers, I really need some Marshals in the next few weeks so would love your help with that, please. Give us a shout if you can spare a Saturday morning to help us out.
Results have been processed and sent, and photos have been posted to our Facebook page. The first finisher today was Luke Hallam at 19:51. First female home was first-timer, Johanna Wilson, in time of 21:04! Well done everyone!
Thanks as always to our national sponsors, Medibank, The Athlete's Foot, and Polar. We all appreciate your support in making parkrun possible in Australia.
We hope you enjoyed our course and look forward to having you back again sometime.
Thanks,
Blair Habberjam - Event Director
